Mark Goldberg received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston and has been practicing law for over 25 years. He was born in Houston and has lived in Texas all his life. 

Mark served on Houston City Council in 2000 and was re-elected twice thereafter. While on Council, he served as Vice-Mayor Pro Tempore.  He spent over a decade working as a criminal defense attorney and as a visiting judge in Court #8, prior to serving on the Houston City Council. Mark currently works as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

From 2009-2012, Mark served as a Legal Advisor for Iraqi National Projects while stationed in Iraq as a consultant to the U.S. State Department in their efforts to strengthen the federal and provincial legislative bodies in Iraq.

Mark earned his BA from the University of Texas, and his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law/ Houston.  He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, as a Trustee at Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. He previously served as a Board Member and Mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and on the Advisory Board of the Houston Holocaust Museum. Earlier in his career, Mark worked as a volunteer firefighter with the Community Fire Department in west Harris County and as a referee official with the TASO Houston Football Chapter. He is a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum, Class XXII, and currently serves on the Selection Committee.

These are the principals I plan to uphold if I am fortunate enough to get elected:

➡️ Work to ensure the safety of crime victims.

➡️ Bring a common sense and ethical approach to the courtroom and our judicial system.

➡️ Establish efficiencies in the courtroom and put the courthouse back to work.
